A VILLA IN ST JOHNS WOOD
The lower ground floor of this grand Victorian town house was
originally inhabited by the downstairs staff and surrounded by a
dark moat. We excavated 300 cubic metres of earth from the
garden, built waterfalls, pools and a courtyard, added a gracious
contemporary conservatory and opened up the sunlit interior as a
great family kitchen/living room. A new spiral stair leads to the
upper ground floor where the restored drawing room overlooks the
long romantic garden.
